Interests: I am in my last semester of college and soon I will walk down the isle to Pomp and Circumstance, and the big question that has been on my mind was, “What do I do now?” The answer for mostly everyone in my graduating class was the same: start the job search. But God had a different plan for me, for He knows I can’t do just the ordinary. God has called me to travel to Europe and Asia as a missionary for six months.I am working with an organization called YWAM (Youth With A Mission). In January I will leave and head to Closkelt, Northern Ireland. I will spend 12 weeks there developing a stronger relationship with the Lord, studying the Bible, and preparing for the outreach part of the trip. The second portion of the program will send me to China. We will work with youth groups, orphanages, churches, schools and community centers around these countries. Our goal is to touch the lives of the people for Christ.

So... I'm still sick.. yup.. I missed most of lectures this weeks.. which stinks because Deb was speaking on Worship.. and I love Deb and I love Worship...  but what can you do when you are sick... I spent most of my week blowing my nose, coughing and staring at the bottom of Laura's bunk. (which--if you didn't get the idea--is the bunk above mine)...

Last night was giving night... which is basically like Christmas.. but you don't have to give something to everyone .. and it can just be a card.. or something of yours that you know they like and/or want.  Laura gave me Monkey (which is her stuffed monkey that falls on me all the time in the night).. She even washed and dryed hime for me :) Its cute.

So yeah... thats about all that is new

So I am sick... :(  I have a soar throat, congestion, cough, sinus pressure... the works.  Yesterday I skipped pretty much everything and slept the whole day.  Elise is sick too, so we spent the day locked up in our room coughing together.  Mostly we slept though.  I guess we both needed the rest.  I feel somewhat better today, but I think that is probably the Tylenol Soar Throat kicking in.  So thats pretty much what has been going on around here.

This week Mike spoke (he is the Base Director).. he has tons of stories about things he has seen God do throughout his life...everything from casting out demons to raising people (including his son) from the dead.  Its pretty interesting.  He is English (I think) but him and his wife lived most of their lives in Zimbabwe before then came to Northern Ireland.

Some of you may have heard about the cyclone that hit South Eastern Africa and has cause a lot of flooding.  People are starving, homeless, injured and dying.  Mike has missionary friends that are working in Mozambique (the country just East of Zambia and Zimbabwe and North od South Africa on the Eastern coast of Africa).  They are saying that most of the money that has been donated for the cause has not reached the people (typical corruption).  And that the Area needs people to come and help out.  So our base is sending a team down there for about 2 weeks.  They originally opened the opportunity up to the DTS to go.  I really wanted to go, But after praying about it, I felt God say stay in Northern Ireland.

The communication with Mozambique is really bad, and transportation into the country is extremely difficult.  Flights aren't going into the are we need to get into because of the flooding, which means getting Mercy Air to fly the team in.  That can get expensive.  Two teams are going up from South Africa to help out, and the contacts there are going to let our base know when it would be a good time to come.  That will probably be after we leave for outreach, which means students from this base won't be able to attend, but staff will still be going.  There is a huge financial need to buy food and water to take to the people there.  If you have any interest in donating let me know.  The base here is making a donation to sources that will actually use the money to buy food for the people.
